We are excited to welcome you back to an in-person event and we also understand how important it is for you to feel comfortable and be protected. Your well-being is our highest priority; the Diabetes Canada/CSEM Professional Conference will have a health and safety plan in accordance with public health measures in place in Calgary at the time of the conference. Diabetes Canada and CSEM will continue to actively assess the situation by closely monitoring government guidelines and public health regulations, and distribute further information and updates as it becomes available. We’ll check in with those registered to attend in-person a few weeks prior to conference to advise of any new or changing measures that may impact the conference. This could include onsite testing, masking, proof of vaccination and social distancing. We will allow registration to be switched from in-person to virtual at any time with no penalty fee.

What You Need to Know About a Hybrid Conference

  • A selection of sessions will be live broadcast each day such as plenary lectures, some concurrent sessions, and co-developed accredited symposia
  • Virtual attendees will be able to ask questions and participate in live polling during any of the live broadcast sessions
  • All educational sessions will be recorded and available on demand after the conference for 6 months for both in-person and virtual attendees to access
  • There will be an opportunity for structured networking for both in-person and virtual attendees

The 2022 conference will be hybrid so you can choose to attend either in-person at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta or virtually via the conference platform. All educational sessions presented in-person will be recorded and offered on demand for 6 months after conference. Some sessions will be live broadcast as well.

CSEM Residents' Day Review
The Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (CSEM) is excited to offer the 2022 Residents' Day Review Course virtually on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MT, 1 day prior to the 2022 Diabetes Canada/Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism Professional Conference.

Residents’ Day consists of workshops and lectures on endocrinology topics led by experts in the field. It is specially designed to prepare you for the upcoming Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification exam in endocrinology.

Resident clinical vignettes and research project abstracts can be submitted here before September 6, 2022 at 11:55p.m ET.

Diabetes Action Canada Trainee Day

The Diabetes Action Canada (DAC) Training and Mentoring Program in collaboration with Diabetes Canada is pleased to offer again in 2022 the Diabetes Action Canada Trainee Day. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., 1 day prior to the 2022 Diabetes Canada/Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism Professional Conference.
All post-secondary students (e.g. Bachelors, Masters, PhD, post- doctoral or MD) enrolled at a college or university in a diabetes/health-care related field are eligible to become student members.

Student members enjoy the same benefits as regular members free of charge for up to two years.

Complete the application form and email it along with your proof of enrollment to professional.membership@diabetes.ca. All applicants must provide proof of full-time status that confirms the start and end dates of their program.
